Have Delaminated or Broken Hurricane Impact Glass?
We replace cloudy or foggy impact glass in brands of wood and aluminum impact windows and doors. The delamination of this glass is a direct result of the glass perimeter not being sealed. Rain water seeps into the casement sash and gets trapped there. The trapped moisture has caused the glass layers to delaminate and become obscured.

The glass on this PGT French door was cracked across the entire width of the pane. This had to be replaced with heat strengthened glass per code. This is also consistant with the glass that was originally installed by the manufacturer PGT.
Window and Door Caulking Leak Repair
Window perimeter caulking should be replaced every 7-9 years. The lifespan of a medium grade sealant degrades much faster in the Florida sun. Bronze or dark colored sealant degrades even faster. The warning signs of failing are cracks, holes, or algae / mold growing from an area that seems to stay wet.

Here we are changing out the old defective door glass. It was so bad that the glass layers had separated and had air bubbles in between. Moisture in the glass layers caused areas to appear foggy spots around the edges.

Here is an iron entrance door with transom that had extensive glass delamination around the edges. The transom shape had to be templated first to order a proper fitting pattern. Once the glass arrived, it was installed into the half round window frame. Door panels were also glazed to revitalize this 20 year old door system.
